The Aksarben Stock Show Challenge Program is designed to
allow youth the opportunity to experience growing and showing a market animal.
The program consists of four species: cattle, swine, sheep, and goats. Animals
are provided by the Aksarben Stock Show with the financial support of sponsors.
Participants are chosen through an application process. Once the animals are
picked up by the exhibitor, it becomes their responsibility to feed, train, and
manage throughout the project. Participants are evaluated on their projects from
the time they take ownership to returning to the Aksarben Stock Show. Individuals
are scores based on their record books, sponsor letters, interview,
showmanship, live placing, and average daily gain of their animal.
